Matthew founded McCarty Quinn, a product design and development studio based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 2012. His passion for innovative design also led him to serve as the Design Director for the outdoor furniture company Loll Designs. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with design-forward clients such as Herman Miller, Umbra, Tuohy, and Loll Designs.

Matthew’s educational journey began with a BFA in furniture design from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He further honed his skills at Cranbrook Academy of Art, where he earned a Master’s in 3D Design as a Knoll scholar. His work has been celebrated at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC and NeoCon in Chicago, earning prestigious awards like the ICFF Editor’s Choice Award and the Red Dot Design Award: Best of the Best. His designs have graced the pages of Fast Company, Dwell, Surface, Metropolis, and Interior Design.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Matthew has shared his love for design by teaching furniture and product design methodology at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. His journey reflects a deep commitment to creativity and a genuine desire to enhance people’s lives through thoughtful design.
